    We appreciate the time given to volunteer at this very special time of year.

    Please see below information and read the role duties before applying to be a volunteer.

    • Volunteer Registrations will open in October 2023.
    • Minimum age to volunteer is 14, accompanied by an adult.
    • All volunteers must attend the 90 minute pre-event briefing held in December to comply with our safety regulations and insurance requirements.
    • All volunteers working in the Food Service areas will be required to register and complete the FoodSafe Online 2023 training course. Further details regarding the course will be provided to you by the Volunteer Coordinator.

    • December 24
      Event Set Up 9am – 12 noon : May involve heavy lifting

      December 25
      Final Event Check 9 – 10am
      Volunteers Leaders Arrive – 10.00am
      Volunteers Arrive – 10.15am – 10.30am
      Volunteers Main Team Talk – 10.45am
      Team Leaders break-off with Teams/Prep – 11.00am
      Guests Arrive – 11.30am to 12.00pm
      Welcome Address – 12.15pm
      Food Service – 12.30pm
      Entertainment – 11.00am to 2.30pm
      Event Conclusion – 2.30pm
      Event Pack Down – 2.30pm onwards : May involve heavy lifting
      Event Pack Down – 2.30pm onwards : May involve heavy lifting

    • Pre Event and Event Day

      • Attend Volunteer Pre-Event Briefing Day
      • Arrive at 10:30, and register your attendance
      • Familiarise yourself with event layout
      • After guests are registered, escort them to a selected table
      • Assist table hosts if needed with mobility impaired guests
      • Clear litter as needed
      • Notify First Aid if needed to any medical issues
      • Encourage guests to complete guest feedback forms and place in box at front of stage

      Event Conclusion
      Return volunteer bib to your Team Leader before leaving the event

    • Pre Event and Event Day

      • Attend Volunteer Pre-Event Briefing Day
      • Arrive at 10:30, and register your attendance
      • Select a table
      • Familiarise yourself with event layout
      • Familiarise yourself with the contents in your Host Pack
      • Greet guests as they are brought to your table by an Usher
      • Brief guests of event timetable
      • Initiate conversation – avoid topics of religion, politics or culture
      • Listen for MC to call lunch service
      • Assist guests who have mobility issues
      • Keep conversation flowing and table tidy
      • Complete host feedback form and place in box at front of stage
      • Encourage guests to complete guest feedback forms and place in box at front of stage

      Event Conclusion
      Return volunteer bib to your Team Leader before leaving the event

    • Pre Event and Event Day

      • Attend Volunteer Pre-Event Briefing Day
      • Arrive at 10:30, and register your attendance
      • Familiarise yourself with event layout
      • You will be assigned a food station by the Catering Manager
      • Your Team Leader will allocate your tasks for the day
      • If asked, second serves will be called by MC once all guests have been served
      • Notify Catering Manager if needed to any medical issues

      Event Conclusion
      Return volunteer bib to your Team Leader before leaving the event
